Allis-Chalmers
Alli Chalmers was established in the 1840s and entered the farming equipment industry in 1914. It became the largest manufacturer in North America but eventually sold its farm equipment division to K-H-Deutz AG of Germany in 1985 and again in 1990 sold to AGCO. AGCO worked effectively in Europe and South America, which made it reach the Fortune 500 list of America’s largest companies. Allis Chalmers had its last office in Milwaukee until 1999.
