eMachines was an American computer brand and a subsidiary of Gateway, Inc. that supplied desktop and laptop computers to retail and corporate markets. Acer revealed its intention to buy the brand in January 2007. In April 2007, the company completed the purchase. The EL1200 and EL1300 series were the company's first product lines, announced in July 1998. The company's products and services were aimed at budget-conscious consumers and small businesses. eMachines is a line of low-cost, user-friendly, and fashionable personal computers. Its vision is to offer folks new to computers the finest computing experience possible.
