Lionel Corporation ran a chain of toy stores mostly on the eastern side of the United States. It is the oldest toy firm in the United States, founded in 1900 by Joshua Lionel Cowen. At its peak, they sold $25 million in trains each year, and their trains attracted appreciation from model railroaders worldwide for the robustness of their construction and the realism of their detail. Model trains, electric football games, and other toys were the company's principal goods.
